Stefanie Nanes

Stefanie Nanes is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Hofstra University. Her primary research interests include national identity, gender, and citizenship in Jordan, where she has spent significant time conducting fieldwork. Her current projects include local governance in Jordan generally and the impact of Jordan’s municipal quota for women specifically. She has published her research in Middle East Journal, Nationalism and Ethnic Politics, Arab Studies Journal, and (with co-author Assaf David) Journal of Women, Politics & Policy.
