Benjamin MacQueen is Senior Lecturer in Politics at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. His research and teaching centres on the politics of the Middle East, with a focus on conflict, its resolution, and issues surrounding post-conflict reconstruction in the region. His publications include ‘An Introduction to Middle East Politics’ (London: Sage, 2012), ‘American Democracy Promotion in the Changing Middle East: From Bush to Obama’ (London: Routledge, 2012) with Shahram Akbarzadeh, James Piscatori an Amin Saikal, and ‘Political Culture and Conflict Resolution in the Arab World: Lebanon and Algeria’ (Melbourne: MUP, 2009).
